Types of Massage Therapy

Swedish Massage is the most frequently requested form of massage. This technique is very effective in promoting relaxation as well as easing aches and pains.

Deep Tissue Massage is useful for treating the deeper musculature that can be very tender and tight from the physical stresses related to injures or illnesses. This technique is usually performed on localized or targeted areas of the body. Deep Tissue Massage isolates the "knots" by treating and releasing them in order to free you from pain.

Neuromuscular Therapy is a form of massage that involves the treatment of the nerves and muscle attachments from their origination point to their ending point. This technique is very effective in treating conditions such as whiplash, carpal tunnel, rotator cuff injuries and many others. Ask your physician about the benefits of this technique.

Sports Massage has been effective in helping athletes for many years. This technique can be utilized at all stages of athletic participation. Stretching and compression techniques are the key components of this form of massage. Many people benefit from this type of massage because prior to an event it will "warm up the muscles" and after the event it increases circulation, reduces lactic acid build up and relieves soreness.
